Legs (make 2)

1. 6 sc in MR
2. (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)
3-7 (5 rounds). 9 sc
Cut the yarn, crochet the second leg, then chain 5
8. Start joining the legs. I do it this way: join with sc, then 8 sc, reach the chain + 5 sc, around the other leg 9 sc, along the chain 5 sc (28)

This method is easier for me so I do not get confused. A small hole remains, and I sew it up when assembling the toy. Or do it however you prefer. You should end up with 28 stitches total.

Body

Continue crocheting the body (stuff as you go):

9-18 (10 rounds). 28 sc
19. 6 sc, dec, 12 sc, dec, 6 sc (26)
20. 5 sc, dec, 11 sc, dec, 6 sc (24)
21. 5 sc, dec, 10 sc, dec, 5 sc (22)
22. 5 sc, dec, 9 sc, dec, 4 sc (20)
23. 4 sc, dec, 8 sc, dec, 4 sc (18)
24. 4 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec, 3 sc (16)
25. (2 sc, 3 dec) x 2 (10)
26-27. 10 sc

Leave a tail for sewing on the head, then cut the yarn.

Head

Using black yarn:

1. 4 sc in MR
Switch to orange yarn:
2. (1 sc, inc) x 2 (6)
3. (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)
4. (2 sc, inc) x 3 (12)
5. (3 sc, inc) x 3 (15)
6. (4 sc, inc) x 3 (18)
7. (5 sc, inc) x 3 (21)
8. (6 sc, inc) x 3 (24)
9. (7 sc, inc) x 3 (27)
10-15 (6 rounds). 27 sc
16. (7 sc, dec) x 3 (24)

Leave a tail for closing the piece, then cut the yarn. The head will be stuffed while attaching the ears.

Ears (make 2)

1. 4 sc in MR
2. (1 sc, inc) x 2 (6)
3. (2 sc, inc) x 2 (8)
4-5. 8 sc

Leave a tail for sewing to the head, then cut the yarn.

Tail

Using white yarn:

1. 4 sc in MR
2. (1 sc, inc) x 2 (6)
3. (2 sc, inc) x 2 (8)
4. (3 sc, inc) x 2 (10)
Continue with the main color yarn:
5. (4 sc, inc) x 2 (12)
6. (5 sc, inc) x 2 (14)

14. (4 sc, dec) x 2 (10)
15. (3 sc, dec) x 2 (8)
16. (2 sc, dec) x 2 (6)

Stuff the tail, leave a tail for sewing it to the body, then cut the yarn.

Arms (make 2)

1. 6 sc in MR
66 sc (11 rounds of 6 sc)

Leave a tail for sewing to the head, then cut the yarn.

Assembly

  • Sew the ears to the head, stuff the head, and close it up.
  • Sew on the arms and tail. Attach the tail at a slight angle.
  • Embroider the eyes. I used black embroidery floss with 3 strands.

Dress-Skirt

Amigurumi crochet fox in a skirt. Dress-skirt

I gathered a regular thin ribbon into a zigzag using a needle and thread. The length should match the fox's chest circumference. I secured it that way. Then I crocheted a long strip of chains, keeping in mind that we will also tie the dress in the back with it (you can make the strip a little thicker by using sc).

Then I sewed the strip to the ribbon with tiny invisible stitches, covering the zigzag line made earlier with the thread.
