Hat for Toys
Free knitting pattern for the Striped Hat by @svetlananikulina60.
With this pattern, you can knit a hat for amigurumi on knitting needles. For the hat, you will need any yarn. You can use a ready-made pom-pom or make one yourself.
The hat is worked with two strands held together.
Materials and Tools
- Mink Fluff yarn (50 g / 350 m) in two colors
- 3.75 mm knitting needles
- Needle
- Scissors

Knitting Instructions for a Hat for Toys
We will knit with two strands held together plus one additional strand that comes with the yarn.
Start knitting with the main color. Cast on 64 stitches on 3.75 mm needles, join to work in the round, and knit in 2x2 ribbing. Work 11 cm. With my knitting gauge, this came to 40 rounds. Switch to stockinette stitch.
41-44: work in stockinette stitch (knit all stitches).
Join the contrasting color yarn. Change colors every 4 rounds.
45-48: contrasting color.
49-52: main color.
53-56: contrasting color.
57-60: main color.
61-64: contrasting color.
Start the decreases. Work them at the beginning of the main-color section.
65: main color. k2tog, K14, k2tog, K14, k2tog, K14, k2tog, K14 (60)
66-68: main color (60)
69-72: contrasting color. (60)
73: main color. k2tog, K13, k2tog, K13, k2tog, K13, k2tog, K13 (56)
74-76: main color (56)
77-80: contrasting color. (56)
81: main color. k2tog, K12, k2tog, K12, k2tog, K12, k2tog, K12 (52)
83-85: contrasting color. (52)
Continue in the same way, making 4 decreases at the beginning of each main-color section. There are 8 decrease rounds total. When 32 stitches remain, cut the yarn, pull it through the stitches to close the top, and weave in the end. Make a pom-pom and sew it on. The hat is ready.
