Crochet amigurumi Hugo the dog pattern
Body and head
In beige-red color.
Body
Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Rounds 4-9: 18 sc (18)
Round 10: (sc, dec) x 6 (12)
Rounds 11-12: 12 sc (12)
Round 13: (2 sc, dec) x 3 (9)
Hugo's body is ready, do not cut the yarn!!! The head is crocheted directly on the body. The transition from torso to head should be stuffed very firmly so the head does not wobble later.
Head
Round 1: (2 sc, inc) x 3 (12)
Round 2: 6 inc (24)
Round 3: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
Rounds 4-10: 30 sc (30)
Round 11: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
Round 12: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
Round 13: (sc, dec) x 6 (12)
Round 14: 6 dec (6)
Important! Attach safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9, with 3 stitches between them. Stuff firmly. Leave a tail for sewing, pull all loops tight, then fasten off and hide the yarn end inside the head. The body and head are ready.
Muzzle
Crochet with terracotta yarn:
Round 1: 6 sc in MR
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4: (6 sc, inc) x 3 (21)
Round 5: 21 sc (21)
Round 6: (5 sc, dec) x 3 (18)
Leave a fairly long yarn tail, as it will be used for sewing. Stuff the muzzle lightly, pin it tightly under the eyes, and sew it on so everything looks neat and even. While sewing, add stuffing little by little, but not too tightly, so the muzzle can be shaped inward later.
Before embroidering the nose and eyebrows, sew on the ears first.
Ears (2 pieces)
With terracotta yarn:
Round 1: 7 sc in MR
Round 2: 7 inc (14)
Rounds 3-5: 14 sc (14)
Round 6: dec, 5 sc, dec, 5 sc (12)
Rounds 7-8: 12 sc (12)
Round 9: dec, 10 sc (11)
Round 10: 11 sc (11)
Round 11: dec, 9 sc (10)
Fold the ear in half and join the edges with 5 sc. Cut the yarn, leaving a long enough tail to sew the ear to the head. Pin the ears to the head (about 2 rounds above eye level), then check again that they sit parallel and at the height you prefer, then sew them on.
Now embroider Hugo's nose. It is fairly thick and large, so embroider from left to right with horizontal stitches. Then insert the needle in the middle under the nose and pull the yarn downward (the yarn is on the muzzle), pulling it slightly to shape the muzzle. Embroider the eyebrows with the same thread, and Hugo's cute muzzle is ready.
Arms and legs (4 pieces)
The arms and legs are crocheted the same way! Crochet in beige-red color.
Round 1: 5 sc in MR
Round 2: 5 inc (10)
Rounds 3-5: 10 sc (10)
Round 6: 5 dec (5)

Take the remaining stitches and pull them together. Cut a very long yarn tail (it is used for the chain and for sewing). Now bring the yarn to the upper part of the arm/leg with a needle, take a crochet hook, and make 7-8 ch. Make each arm and leg the same way (4 pieces total).
Sew the arms to the body with a blunt needle in the last round, exactly at the transition from torso to head. Pierce through to the opposite side (1.) above the stitch (2.), return to the arm (chain), pierce through the upper part (3.). Then pierce the opposite side again and secure the yarn. (4.) Repeat all of this on the other side.

Now sew on the legs. They are attached the same way as the arms (4 steps, as above), but you pierce from the back, not the side.
Tail
Crochet with terracotta yarn:
Round 1: 6 ch
Round 2: from the 3rd chain from the hook: 2 sc, 2 hdc
The small tail bends slightly upward, and that is how it should be. Now position the tail on the body in the center of the back above the legs, between rounds 4 and 5 from the bottom. Pin the tail in place and sew it on firmly.
Now you can attach a keyring to the top of the head. Also, you can crochet a chain of any length and sew it to the head at both ends, forming a loop. Now your cute Hugo is ready :) I wish you lots of joy with your lovely little dog.
