Little Hippo

Free crochet tutorial for a Little Hippo by Yuliya Koroleva @igruli_ot_yuli.
Using this pattern, you can crochet a hippo in pants. Any acrylic, cotton, or cotton blend yarn and a suitable crochet hook will work for this amigurumi. The hippo's legs and body are crocheted as one piece.
Materials and Tools
- Yarn in two colors

- Black thread for embroidering the nose

Crochet Amigurumi Hippo Pattern
Legs (make 2)
Start with the main color:
1. 6 sc in MR (6)
2. inc x 6 (12)
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
5-7. 24 sc without changes
8-10. Change to the pants color (24)
Cut the yarn. Crochet the second leg, but do not cut the yarn. Continue crocheting the body. Make 2 ch and join to the first leg with sc. This will be the first stitch of round 11. Continue crocheting around the legs and make 2 increases. I place them on the sides of the legs by eye. Then crochet 23 more sc around the leg. Do not forget to make an increase. Next, crochet 2 ch, then 24 sc around the second leg, make an increase, and crochet 2 more ch. You should have 54 sc total.
Body
Crochet the body in a spiral.

- Sew on the head
- Shape the muzzle
- Sew on the arms and ears
