Amigurumi crochet Valentine heart

A free crochet tutorial for Valentine Heart by Maria Trunova @trunosha.

Using this pattern, you can crochet a Valentine heart in a flower pot. For this amigurumi project, any cotton blend yarn will work: YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others.

Materials and tools

  • Iris yarn (for the heart and grass)
  • YarnArt Jeans yarn (for the pot)
  • 1-2 mm crochet hook
  • Toy stuffing
  • Granulate
  • Matchstick or toothpick
  • Glue
  • Foil
  • Needle for sewing parts together
  • Scissors

  • dec - decrease
  • (...) x n - repeat n times

Crochet amigurumi Valentine heart pattern

Heart

Crochet with Iris yarn:

1. 6 sc in MR (6)
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18)
4-5. 18 sc

Crochet 2 identical pieces. Cut the yarn on one of them. Join these two pieces together. Crochet 4 sc, catching the loops of both pieces, as if sewing them together.

7. (14 sc, 1 inc) x 2 (32)
In rounds 6 and 7, the increases should land at the joining points of the two pieces.

Do not forget to stuff the heart

Make sure to leave an opening for the toothpick. Insert it and secure with glue. Cut the yarn, fasten off, trim, and hide the tail. The heart is ready!

4. 18 sc

Cut the yarn and fasten off.

Pot

YarnArt Jeans yarn:

1. 6 sc in MR (6)
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18)
4. Shape the base. Work 18 sc in back loops only
5-11. Work 7 regular rounds of 18 sc
12. 18 sl st

Fasten off, cut, and hide the yarn tail. I put metal granulate inside the pot to add weight. You can skip it. Stuff the pot with foil and cover it with the grass piece. You can sew or glue it in place. Insert the toothpick with the heart into the grass, pushing it into the foil. You can secure it with glue.
