Fly Agaric Mushroom

With this pattern, you can crochet a mushroom keychain. For this amigurumi project, any yarn and a suitable hook will work. The author recommends acrylic or cotton yarn (smooth yarn for the stem) and Alize Softy (for the cap and embroidered spots).

Finished toy size is about 7 cm.

Fly Agaric Mushroom Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

The crocheted fly agaric mushroom is a very practical item. Here are some ways to use it. This little mushroom can become:

• A bright keychain or charm for keys, a phone, etc.
• A brooch.
• A Christmas tree ornament.
• A pincushion.
• An accessory for another toy (bunny, bear, hedgehog, Baba Yaga, etc.).
• An element for a nursing necklace or baby mobile.
• Jewelry: a pendant or earrings (especially if crocheted from thin cotton thread).

You can crochet this toy in joined rounds, connecting the beginning and end of each round and starting each new one with a turning chain. You can also crochet in a spiral; in that case, you will need a marker to track the start of each round and avoid losing stitch and round count. Unless stated otherwise, crochet through both loops.

Crochet the stem with smooth yarn:

Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) x 3 times (9)
Rnd 3-4: 9 sc
Rnd 5: (1 sc, dec) x 3 times (6)
Rnd 6-7: 6 sc
Rnd 8: in the front loop, crochet a "skirt" - 2 ch, (2 dc in one stitch, 3 dc in one stitch) x 3 times, 2 ch, sl st; continue the stem in the back loop — 6 sc
Rnd 9: 6 sc
Stuff the stem. Next, crochet the bottom of the cap.
Rnd 10: in the front loop (inc) x 6 times (12)
Rnd 11: (sc, inc) x 6 times (18)
Rnd 12: (2 sc, inc) x 6 times (24)

Switch to red fluffy yarn.

Rnd 13: (3 sc, inc) x 6 times (30)

Add more stuffing to the top of the mushroom.
Rnd 23: dec until the opening is closed

Thread a wide-eye needle with a piece of white Softy yarn and embroider spots on the cap at random. The mushroom is ready!
