With this pattern, you can crochet an Easter chick with eggs. For this amigurumi project, you will need cotton blend YarnArt Jeans yarn in different colors. Embroider the legs and beak. You can embroider the eyes or use safety eyes. The basket with eggs is crocheted from the same materials.
Materials and tools
- YarnArt Jeans yarn: 35 - main color, 62 - for the whites of the eyes, 53 - for the eyes, 85 - for the beak and legs
- YarnArt Jeans yarn: 70 - for the basket
- YarnArt Jeans yarn: 11, 36, 75, 85 - for the eggs
- 2 mm crochet hook
- 6 mm safety eyes

Head-body
Crochet in the main color.
Round 1: 7 sc in MR (7)
Round 2: 7 inc (14)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 7 (21)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 7 (28)
Round 5-7: 28 sc (3 rounds) (28)
Round 8: (3 sc, inc) x 7 (35)
Round 9-13: 35 sc (5 rounds) (35)
Insert the eyes between rounds 7 and 8. Leave 5 sc between the eye posts. If you prefer, you can embroider the eyes.
Round 14: (3 sc, dec) x 7 (28)
Stuff the piece as you crochet.
Round 15: (2 sc, dec) x 7 (21)
Round 16: (1 sc, dec) x 7 (14)
Round 17: 7 dec (7)
Pull the opening closed through front loops, fasten the yarn, cut it, and weave in the end.
Wings
Crochet in the main color.
Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Fold the piece in half and crochet through both layers: 8 sc. Fasten the yarn, cut it, and leave a tail for sewing.
Finishing
1. Embroider the whites of the eyes.
2. Cut a long strand of orange YarnArt Jeans yarn, split it into 2 strands, and embroider the beak between rounds 8 and 9, centered over 1 sc. Do not cut the yarn.
3. Use the same yarn to embroider the legs.

Bring the yarn out between rounds 13 and 14, 2 sc to the left of center, and embroider one leg (see photo). Embroider the second leg the same way.
4. Sew on the wings. I sew the back side of the wing up to the middle, and the front side over 2 sc.
Basket
Round 1: 7 sc (7)
Round 2: 7 inc (14)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 7 (21)
Round 4: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) x 6; 1 sc (28)
Make a sl st, cut the yarn, and weave in the end.
Crochet one more identical piece; do not cut the yarn.

Place the 2 pieces together with wrong sides facing and crochet them together:
Round 5: (3 sc, inc) x 7 (35)
Round 6: 35 recessed sc (35)
Round 7-11: 35 sc (5 rounds) (35)
Round 12: (1 ch, sl st) - repeat to the end of the round.
Do not cut the yarn.
Basket handle: chain 22 and make a sl st exactly in the middle on the other side of the basket (into the 17th stitch).
Work back along the handle with sl st. Fasten the yarn, cut it, and weave in the end.
Eggs

Stuff the piece.
