Doll Clothes
Free crochet tutorial on making doll clothes by Maria Shatilova @shati_dolls.
With this pattern, you can crochet a buttoned dress and shoes for a doll. For amigurumi, any cotton blend yarn will work: YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, Gazzal Baby Cotton, and others.
Materials and Tools
- YarnArt Jeans yarn in three colors: gray, white, and peach
- 2 mm crochet hook
- Buttons
- Needle
- Scissors

- sl st - slip stitch
- sc - single crochet
- hdc - half double crochet
- inc - increase

- R - raglan (3 sc in one stitch)
Crochet Raglan Dress and Doll Shoes Pattern
My recommendation: always try the clothes on the doll as you crochet.
Dress
Use three yarn colors; start with peach:
Chain 36. Work in turning rows:
Rows 1-2: 36 sc
Row 3: 6 sc, R, 4 sc, R, 12 sc, R, 4 sc, R, 6 sc (44)
Row 4: 7 sc, R, 6 sc, R, 14 sc, R, 6 sc, R, 7 sc (52)
Row 5: 8 sc, R, 8 sc, R, 16 sc, R, 8 sc, R, 8 sc (60)
Switch to gray yarn and cut the peach yarn. From here on, each time you change yarn, cut the previous color. I leave yarn tails, then hide them all later when edging the dress. You can also hide tails right away while crocheting the next row.
Row 6: 9 sc, R, 10 sc, R, 18 sc, R, 10 sc, R, 9 sc (68)
Row 7: 10 sc, R, 12 sc, R, 20 sc, R, 12 sc, R, 10 sc (76)
Row 8: 11 sc, R, 14 sc, R, 22 sc, R, 14 sc, R, 11 sc (84)
Row 9: 13 sc, 4 ch, skip 18 stitches, 22 sc, 4 ch, skip 18 stitches, 13 sc (56)
Switch to white yarn.
Row 10: 56 sc
Row 11: 4 sc, (5 sc x inc) x 8, 4 sc (64)
Rows 12-13: 64 sc
Switch to peach yarn.
Row 14: 4 sc, (6 sc x inc) x 8, 4 sc (72)
Rows 15, 16, 17: 72 sc
Switch to gray yarn... then continue crocheting 72 sc without changes, switching yarn color every 4 rows. I crocheted 20 more rows and changed color 5 times.
At the end of the last row, do not cut the yarn. Edge the dress all around with sc, hide the remaining yarn tails, make chain loops for the buttons. Sew on the buttons.
Shoes
Crochet with blue yarn.
Chain 9, starting in the second chain from the hook:
Row 1: 7 sc, 4 sc in the last stitch, 7 sc on the other side, 4 sc in the last stitch. Place a marker and crochet in the round.
Row 2: 7 sc, 4 inc, 7 sc, 4 inc (30)
Row 3: 9 sc, 4 inc, 12 sc, 4 inc, 1 sc (38)
Row 4: 11 sc, 4 inc, 16 sc, 2 inc, 5 sc (44), switch to peach yarn, cut gray yarn, and hide it in the next row.
Row 5: work in back loop only: 44 hdc
Rows 6-9: 44 sc
Row 10: (9 sc, dec) x 4 (40)
Row 11: (3 sc, dec) x 8 (32)
Row 12: 8 sc, 6 hdc dec, 12 dec (26)
Row 13: 26 sc in front loop only; at this stage, you can cut the peach yarn, fasten off, and hide it.
Take white yarn and attach it at the start of row 13 from the inside to the back loop. Crochet three rows of 26 sc, cut the yarn, fasten off, and hide it. Make two identical pieces.
