Amigurumi Cutie Tiger Tiger Keychain Crochet Pattern

All toy parts are crocheted in a spiral. This toy requires minimal sewing. The legs and arms are crocheted in as you go. The ears are also crocheted in. The black stripes are embroidered.

Paws (4 pieces)

Start with white yarn.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: sc in each st (12)
Round 4: (2 sc, dec) x 3 (9)
Switch to orange yarn.
Rounds 5-6: 2 rounds - sc in each st (9)

Put stuffing only into the white part. Fold the edges in half and join with 4 sc. Hide the yarn tail inside. Embroider two stripes on each paw with black yarn using a running stitch.

Tail

Start with white yarn.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)
Round 3: sc in each st (9)
Then alternate black and orange yarn.
Round 4: (orange) sc in each st (9)
Round 5: (black) sc in each st (9)
Round 6: (orange) sc in each st (9)
Round 7: (black) sc in each st (9)
Round 8: (orange) sc in each st (9)
Round 9: (black) sc in each st (9)
Rounds 10-12: (orange) 3 rounds - sc in each st (9)

Add a little stuffing. Fold the edges in half and join with 4 sc. Leave a tail for sewing.

Head and Body

Use orange yarn.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
Round 5: 2 ch, (3 sc, inc) x 3, 2 ch, (3 sc, inc) x 3 (30) - ch stitches are not included in the stitch count; we will crochet in the ears later into these loops. For convenience, mark them with a yarn of another color.

Round 6: (4 sc, inc) x 6 (36)
Round 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6 (42)
Rounds 8-13: 6 rounds - sc in each st (42)

In the next round, crochet in the upper paws. The distance between them is 11 stitches. Flatten the piece in half. Using the ears as your guide, find the center stitch of the body and count 5 stitches to each side from it. These 11 stitches are the distance between the paws. This is how mine came out:

Round 14: 4 sc together with paw, 11 sc, 4 sc together with paw, 23 sc (42)
Rounds 15-23: 9 rounds - sc in each st (42)
Insert safety eyes between rounds 10 and 11 with 8 stitches between them.
Add stuffing.
Round 24: (5 sc, dec) x 6 (36)
Round 25: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)
Round 26: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
Round 27: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
Round 28: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
Round 29: 6 dec (6)

Add stuffing. Pull the opening closed and hide the yarn tail inside.

  • Put the overalls on and sew them to the body through the second-to-last round. Attach a new yarn strand (Color 1) to the last round of the overalls at the back and crochet sl st all around, making straps of 6 ch near the paws.
  • Sew the muzzle between the eyes. With the same yarn, embroider the whites around the eyes.
  • Embroider the nose and eyebrows with black yarn.
  • Embroider stripes on the head with black yarn using a running stitch.
  • Sew on the buttons.
  • Attach keychain hardware. I used a metal ring and a charm with a cord.

Reflective Element

Cut a 5 cm circle from cardboard or plastic. Cut the same circle from reflective tape. Glue the tape to the base.
