Amigurumi Crow Charles crochet

With this pattern, you can crochet Crow Charles. The bird is crocheted, while the cap is knitted. For this amigurumi project, you should have experience working with fuzzy yarn. The legs, beak, and cap are made from any cotton blend yarn: YarnArt Jeans, Alize Cotton Gold, or Gazzal Baby Cotton.

The finished toy size is about 29 cm.

Materials and Tools

  • Himalaya Koala yarn (main yarn for the bird, 90 g)
  • YarnArt Jeans yarn (for the beak and legs, 30 g)
  • Any yarn for knitting the cap
  • 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm crochet hooks
  • 3 mm knitting needles
  • 10 mm safety eyes
  • Toy stuffing
  • Plastic joints (for the legs)
  • Needle for sewing parts

Amigurumi Crow Charles Crochet Pattern

Legs (upper part, 2 pieces)

Start with Koala yarn and a 3.5 mm hook.

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Rounds 3-6: 12 sc (12), change to cotton blend yarn and use a 2.5 mm hook
Insert the joint. You can add a little stuffing.
Rounds 7-18: 12 sc (12), sl st

Lower part (cotton blend):

It will consist of 3 parts (2 side parts are identical, the middle part is larger). You will join them together while crocheting.

Middle part:

Round 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Rounds 3-5: 12 sc (12), sl st, cut the yarn

Side parts (2 pieces):

Round 1: 5 sc in MR (5)
Round 2: 5 inc (10)
Rounds 3-4: 10 sc (10), sl st, cut the yarn

Crochet one more the same way, but do not cut the yarn. Start joining the parts.

Round 1: On this same part, crochet 5 sc, take the middle part (the one you made first) and crochet 6 sc on it, take the remaining part and crochet all its sc, i.e. 10 sc, then again 6 sc on the middle part, and finish the round on the first part with 5 sc; you should get 32 sc in this round

Cut the yarn and stuff. Sew all parts in place.

Cap

Cast on 56 stitches on knitting needles and work 6 rows in ribbing.

Then knit in stockinette: knit stitches on the right side and purl stitches on the wrong side. Change color every 6 rows. In each color stripe, make decreases at the beginning and end of rows 1 and 5. I finished when 8 stitches were left on the needle and bound them off. Sew the seam. Decorate with a pom-pom.
