Crocheted Eyes for Toys

This is a free tutorial for crocheting eyes for toys by Tatyana Erofeeva.

Using these instructions, you can crochet eyes for toys or dolls. If you use the materials listed below, the finished eyes will be 1.5 cm in diameter.

Materials and tools

• VITA Cotton Coco yarn in light brown
• Acrylic yarn in black
• Acrylic yarn in dark brown
• 1.25 mm crochet hook
• A small amount of white yarn for embroidering highlights
• Needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations

• MR - magic ring
• sl st - slip stitch
• sc - single crochet
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease

Crochet pattern for toy eyes

Work in the round. When changing colors, finish the round with a slip stitch, cut the yarn, and fasten it off.

With black yarn:
1: 8 sc in MR (8)

With light brown yarn:
2: inc x 8 (16)

With dark brown yarn:
3: in back loops only: 15 sl st, 1 deep sc (16)

Deep sc: insert the hook not under the loops of the previous round, but one round below, and work it like a regular single crochet.
