Amigurumi zebra crochet

Free Zebra crochet tutorial by Natalya @nataliya_plushki_toys.

With this pattern, you can crochet a plush zebra. For this amigurumi project, any plush yarn works: Himalaya Dolphin Baby, YarnArt Dolce, Nako Panda Baby, and a suitable crochet hook.

Finished toy size is about 35-38 cm (including the ears).

Materials and Tools

  • YarnArt Dolce yarn in white and black, one skein of each color
  • Any white and black yarn for the mane and tail
  • 4-5 mm crochet hook
  • 16 mm safety eyes
  • Doll eyelashes
  • Toy stuffing
  • Thin plastic or cardboard circles to reinforce the hooves
  • Ribbon
  • Needles and thread for sculpting and sewing parts
  • Scissors

Back Legs (2 pieces)

Start crocheting with black yarn.

Change black yarn to white, then alternate black and white every two rounds.

At this stage, I place a firm material inside the bottom of the hoof to keep it flat and stuff it with filling. Do not forget to alternate colors every two rounds!

Toy Assembly

  • Stuff the body.
  • Sew on the head.
  • Make the zebra's tail. Use the same yarn as for the mane, cut strands about 30 cm long; the more strands you use, the thicker the tail will be. Pull the strands through stitches where you want the tail and braid them.
  • Your toy is ready!
