Pumpkins

A free Pumpkin crochet tutorial by Natalia Erkhova @crochet_natalia.

With this pattern, you can crochet a pumpkin with a leaf. You will need yarn in two colors and a suitable crochet hook. The toy is worked in the round. Single crochet stitches are worked in the back loop only.

Using the recommended materials, the pumpkin size is about 12 cm.

Materials and tools

• Orange GAZZAL BABY COTTON yarn (for crocheting the pumpkin)
• Brown ALIZE FOREVER yarn (for crocheting the stem, tendrils, and leaf; this yarn should be about twice as thin as the pumpkin yarn)
• Crochet hook
• Toy stuffing
• Brown thread for sewing
• Needle
• Glue
• Scissors

Stuff the pumpkin. It is better not to stuff it too firmly.

Pull the remaining opening closed with a needle, leaving a long tail for sculpting.

You should get a ball. Now make sculpting lines to give it a pumpkin shape.

The first sculpting line is made in the center. Then make eight sculpting lines around the sides.

The sculpting lines can vary in width, which gives the crocheted pumpkin a closer resemblance to a real pumpkin.

Tendrils

Crochet two pieces: 7 cm and 10 cm.

1: Make a ch chain 7 cm long

3: Mix PVA glue with water in a 1:1 ratio, moisten the crocheted pieces with this solution, shape them, and let them dry

Toy assembly

• Sew the tendrils to the center of the pumpkin
• Add a little stuffing into the base of the stem and sew it to the pumpkin, covering the tendril attachment point
