Amigurumi Crochet Flower Pattern

There are no yarn recommendations. Use any yarn in any color. Leftover yarn works very well. In addition to yarn, you will need a piece of wire for the stem, a little adhesive tape, a little poly filling for the center of the flower, and glue such as "Moment Crystal" or "Moment Gel."

Petal

6 sc in MR:

1: 6 inc (12)
2: 12 sc
3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18)
4-7: 18 sc
8: (dec, 7 sc) x 2 (16)
9: 16 sc
10: (dec, 6 sc) x 2 (14)
11: 14 sc
12: (dec, 5 sc) x 2 (12)
13: 12 sc
14: (dec, 4 sc) x 2 (10)
15: 10 sc
16: (dec, 3 sc) x 2 (8)
17: 8 sc
18: (dec, 2 sc) x 2 (6)
19: 3 dec

I crocheted 9 petals. You can also make decreases in every round, and then the petal will be shorter and wider, and you will only need 6 petals.

Sepals

Using green yarn. Join 6 ch into a ring. This creates a small opening where we will insert the stem later.

1: 6 inc (12)
2: 12 sc
3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18)
4: 18 sc
5: (2 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (24)
6: 24 sc
7: (3 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (36)
8: (3 sc, 2 ch) x 11

Finish crocheting and leave a yarn tail for sewing on the petals. Sew the petals to the sepals in two places.

  • Sew through round 4 of the sepals, piercing all the way through the petals. The green stitches will later be covered by the center of the flower.
  • Sew through round 7 of the sepals, catching the petals through one layer only.

Stem

You will need: wire, clear glue, green thread, and pliers. Cut a piece of wire and wrap one end lightly with adhesive tape, one or two turns, covering the cut end of the wire.

On the other side, step back 4-5 cm from the end and wrap the tape more thickly; the flower will rest on this little bump during assembly. Start from the bottom. Apply glue to 3-4 cm of the wire and wrap thread around it tightly, turn by turn. Leave the second end of the wire unwrapped for about 4-5 cm.

Add volume to the thickened part of the stem near the bud by wrapping several layers of thread. Coat each layer of thread with glue except the last one. Note: there is no need to apply glue along the entire length of the stem; 4 cm at the beginning and 4-6 cm near the bud is enough. If needed, continue wrapping thread along the full length of the stem until you get the desired thickness.

Take the prepared bud piece and insert the stem through the opening in the sepals. The end of the wire sticking out from the center of the flower should be bent or twisted into a ring, pressing the sepals against the stem. I also wrapped some thread around it for extra security. It is not very visible in the photo; the wire forms a "T." Thread is wrapped under the crossbar of this "T." It secures the petals and adds volume to the sepals. Sew the stem to the flower for extra durability.

Center of the Flower (Stamens)

Using yellow yarn:

1: 6 inc (12)
2: 12 sc
3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18)
4: 18 sc
5: (2 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (24)
6: 24 sc
7: (3 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (36)

Sew on the center, placing a small piece of poly filling underneath. The yellow threads should not show through from below.

Leaf

Using green yarn. 19 ch:

Row 1: starting in the second chain from the hook, 17 sc, inc, on the second side of the chain - inc, 17 sc. Turn the work
Row 2: starting in the second chain from the hook, 3 sc, 3 ch, 2 sc into the chain stitches, 4 sc, 4 ch, 3 sc into the chain stitches, 4 sc, 4 ch, 3 sc into the chain stitches, 4 sc, 4 ch, 3 sc into the chain stitches, 3 sc, 4 ch (this is the tip of the leaf), 3 sc into the chain stitches, 3 sc, 4 ch, 3 sc into the chain stitches, 4 sc, 4 ch, 3 sc into the chain stitches, 4 sc, 4 ch, 3 sc into the chain stitches, 4 sc, 3 ch, 2 sc into the chain stitches, 3 sc
Row 3: single crochet in every stitch of the previous row.
