Amigurumi Chicken rooster crochet

A free crochet tutorial for Chicken by @mavdrik_toys.

With this pattern, you can crochet a small rooster. For this amigurumi project, you will need any thin velour (thin plush yarn). The body and head are crocheted as one piece. The beak is embroidered. The comb is crocheted directly onto the head.

For decoration, you can embroider small branches with white thread or sew on beads.

1. MR 6 sc
2. 6 inc = 12
3. (sc, inc) x 6 = 18
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 = 24
5. (3 sc, inc) x 6 = 30
6. (4 sc, inc) x 6 = 36
7-10. No changes for 4 rounds = 36
11. Crochet 12 sc, skip 24 stitches, and join.
12-15. Crochet 4 rounds with no changes = 12
16. 6 dec = 6

Close the opening with a needle and add stuffing.

Thread the yarn through a needle and sew the remaining opening on the back through the loops. Do not forget to add stuffing there too.

Glue the eyes at the level of round 5 of the head, with 4 stitches between the eyes. Using thin cotton or sewing thread, embroider the beak as a stitch at eye level.

Amigurumi Chicken rooster crochet. Crocheting process

I make the comb with dark red yarn. Secure it at the center of the head, moving up 3 stitches from the beak. Crochet 3 ch, 2 dc in one stitch, sc, 3 dc in one stitch, sc, hdc, sl st.

Bring the yarn out under the beak and make small stitches (small wattles like a hen's and larger ones for a rooster). Secure and cut the yarn.

Decorate Chicken as you like. I embroider the whites of the eyes with white thread and also at wing level (I do simple embroidery instead of wings 😅)
