Crochet amigurumi car with gifts

Free crochet tutorial for a Car with Gifts by Olga @helga__toys.

Using this pattern, you can crochet a little car. Any cotton blend YarnArt Jeans yarn in red, white, black, and gray will work for crocheting this amigurumi. The author did not provide a pattern for the gift.

Materials and Tools

  • YarnArt Jeans yarn (for the small car)
  • YarnArt Jeans Plus yarn (for the body of the large car)
  • 2.5 mm and 4 mm crochet hooks
  • Toy stuffing
  • Stitch markers
  • Needle
  • Scissors

  • MR — magic ring
  • ch — chain stitch
  • sl st — slip stitch
  • sc — single crochet
  • hdc — half double crochet
  • inc — increase

Crochet Amigurumi Car with Gifts Pattern

For the small car, I use YarnArt Jeans yarn, and for the large car, YarnArt Jeans Plus (but only for the body! I crochet the wheels and headlights from YarnArt Jeans).

Top of the Car

Red yarn. Chain 11.

1: Starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, crochet 10 sc, 1 ch, turn.
2-14: 10 sc, 1 ch, turn
15: 10 sc
16: crochet around the "roof" of the car: 15 sc, 12 sc, 15 sc. Change to white yarn.
17: 51 sc in the back loop only.
18: 10 sc, 1 inc, 14 sc, 1 inc, 10 sc, 1 inc, 14 sc. (54 sc)
19: 27 sc, 1 inc, 10 sc, 1 inc, 15 sc. (56 sc)
20: 56 sc
21: 56 sc
Change to red yarn. Work round 22 in the back loop only.
22: 1 inc, 9 sc, 1 inc, 17 sc, 1 inc, 10 sc, 1 inc, 16 sc, 1 sl st. (60 sc)
23: 1 inc, 11 sc, 1 inc, 18 sc, 11 hdc, 1 ch, turn; 11 hdc, 1 ch, turn; 11 hdc, 1 ch, turn; 11 hdc, 1 ch, turn; 1 hdc dec, 7 hdc, 1 hdc dec, 1 ch, 6 sc along the side of the hood, 51 sc, 4 sc along the side of the hood, 1 inc. Place a marker.
24: 10 sc in the back loop only, 1 inc, 62 sc. (74 sc)
25: 74 sc
26: 74 sc
27: 74 sc, continue this round - 36 sc, 1 sl st

Cut the yarn and fasten off the end.

Bottom of the Car

Chain 13. Starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, crochet:

1-15. 12 hdc, 1 ch, turn.

Crochet around the bottom of the car:
25 sc along the long side, 12 sc along the short side, 25 sc along the long side. Place the bottom against the upper part of the car and attach it with slip stitches or sew it on. Stuff as you sew.

Headlights for the Large Car

1: 6 sc in MR (6 sc)
2: 6 inc (12 sc)

Headlights for the Small Car

1: 6 sc in MR (6 sc)

Embroider the rear lights.

Wheels for the Small Car

Outer Part (4 pieces)

With gray yarn:
1: 6 sc in MR
2: 6 inc (12 sc), change to black yarn
3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18 sc)

Inner Part (4 pieces)

Crochet the same way as the outer part of the wheel, but using black yarn only.

Join both halves of the wheel and crochet one more round:
(2 sc, inc) x 6 times (24 sc)

Cut the yarn and fasten off the end.

Wheels for the Large Car

Outer Part (4 pieces)

With gray yarn:
1: 6 sc in MR
2: 6 inc (12 sc)
3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times (18 sc), change to black yarn.

Inner Part (4 pieces)

Crochet the same way as the outer part of the wheel, but using black yarn only.

Join both halves of the wheel and crochet one more round:
(3 sc, inc) x 6 times (30 sc)

Cut the yarn and fasten off the end.
