Heart Cactus

Free crochet tutorial for a Heart Cactus by @am_igrushka.

With this pattern, you can crochet a heart cactus. A crocheted cactus with a flower in a small pot. For this amigurumi project, you will need YarnArt Jeans cotton blend yarn (or similar yarn). The flower is crocheted separately and then sewn on. The pot and cactus are crocheted together.

Materials and Tools

• YarnArt Jeans yarn: green, beige, purple, black
• 2 mm crochet hook
• Toy stuffing
• Stitch markers
• Pins
• Needle for sewing parts
• Scissors

• MR - magic ring
• ch - chain stitch
• sl st - slip stitch
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease
• BLO - back loop only
• (...) x n - repeat n times

Amigurumi Heart Cactus Crochet Pattern

Cactus

Use green yarn. Crochet 2 half-circles.

1. 6 sc in MR
2. inc x 6 (12)
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
4. 18 sc

Join the 2 pieces on the inside with 3 sc (do not work into these stitches again later).

5. 15 sc along the first piece, 15 sc along the second piece (30)
6-7. 30 sc (2 rounds)
8. (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
9. 24 sc
10. (1 sc, dec, 1 sc) x 6 (18)
Start stuffing with fiberfill.
11. 18 sc
12. (4 sc, dec) x 3 (15)
13. change to black yarn, work in FLO: (4 sc, inc) x 3 (18)
14. (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
15. (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)

Cut the yarn.

Flower

Use purple yarn and start crocheting the flower:

1. 8 sc in MR
2. (5 ch, turn, starting from the 2nd chain from the hook: 4 sl st, join with sl st into the next stitch around) x 8

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Pot

Use beige yarn and start crocheting the pot:

1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)

Cut a base from cardboard or plastic. (If desired, you can glue it to the bottom of the pot.)

5. work in BLO: 24 sc
6. 24 sc
7. (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
8-10. 30 sc (3 rounds)

Do not cut the yarn.

Joining the Pot and Cactus

1. Place the pot and cactus with right sides together and continue crocheting the pot with beige yarn: 20 sc
Stuff firmly with fiberfill, then crochet the remaining 10 sc
2. 30 sc
3. Make the edging: (1 ch, join with sl st into the next stitch around the pot) x 30 times

Cut the yarn and hide the end.

Sew the flower to the cactus and bend the petals upward. Cut the yarn and hide the end.
