Bright Rooster

Free crochet tutorial for Bright Rooster by @alwaysknit.

With this pattern, you can crochet a small plush bird keychain. For this amigurumi project, you can use any plush yarn in bright colors. The whole toy is crocheted as one piece. The comb is crocheted at the end, on the finished toy.

Finished bird toy size is about 5 cm.

• Wolans Bunny Baby plush yarn
• 3.5 mm crochet hook
• 10 mm safety eyes
• Toy stuffing
• Stitch markers
• Pins
• Keychain hardware
• Sewing needle for attaching parts
• Scissors

• ch - chain stitch
• sl st - slip stitch
• sc - single crochet
• dc - double crochet
• hdc - half double crochet
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease

Bright Rooster Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Crochet from top to bottom.

Red yarn:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR
Rnd 2: 6 inc = 12
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 = 18
Rnd 4: 18 sc

Next, switch to yellow yarn.

Rnd 5: 18 sc
Rnd 6: 5 sc, wing (green): ch, dc, ch, dc, 2 ch, sl st in one stitch, 9 sc, wing (green): ch, dc, ch, dc, 2 ch, sl st in one stitch, 4 sc = 18
Switch to green yarn.
Rnd 7: 18 sc (5 st before the wing, 9 st between the wings, 4 st after the wing)
Rnd 8: 7 sc, leg (orange): popcorn stitch from 3 dc, 3 sc, leg (orange): popcorn stitch from 3 dc, 6 sc = 18

Insert 10 mm safety eyes between rounds 4 and 5.

Rnd 9: 9 dec = 9
Stuff
Rnd 10: 3 dec

Close the remaining stitches with a needle. Embroider a small beak with orange yarn between the eyes.

Comb

Join red yarn to the head and crochet between rounds: (4 ch, sl st) x 4
