Free Crafty Bee crochet tutorial by Gelena Naumova.
With this pattern, you can crochet a bee keychain. For this amigurumi project, any plush yarn and a suitable crochet hook will work. The cheeks are embroidered with plush yarn, and the mouth with smooth black yarn. The entire toy is very quick and easy to crochet.
Materials and Tools
- Plush yarn (120 m per 100 g): yellow, brown, white, pink
- Black thread for embroidering the mouth
- 3.5-4 mm crochet hook
- 10 mm safety eyes
- Toy stuffing
- Stitch markers
- Pins
- Cord for the keychain
- Needle for sewing parts

Bee Body
Round 1: Main color, MR + 6 sc = 6 st
Round 2: 6 inc = 12 st
Round 3: (2 sc, inc) x 4 = 16 st
Round 4: 16 sc = 16 st
Round 5: Stripe color, 16 sc = 16 st
Round 6: Main color, 16 sc = 16 st
Insert the eyes between rounds 2 and 3.
The center of the back is the line where the stripe color changes, between the first and the last stitch; this is the axis of symmetry. Also use the first colored round as a guide. Count 4 stitches on both sides from the axis of symmetry and insert the eyes between rounds 2 and 3.
Round 7: Stripe color, 16 sc = 16 st
Round 8: Main color, 16 sc = 16 st
Round 9: (2 sc, dec) x 4 = 12 st
Round 10: 6 dec = 6 st
Bee Wings
Crochet in a bow style. Magic ring + (3 ch, 2 tr, 3 ch, sl st) x 2.
Leave about 20 cm of yarn for sewing.
To sew on the wings, insert the needle along the symmetry axis from the back of the bee, catching the starts of rounds 6-7. Sew with 3-4 wraps. Hide the yarn tail. Sewing the wings this way gives the bee a nice rounded belly and even wings. The yarn color change is almost invisible.
Finishing the Toy
- Embroider the cheeks (with plush yarn) and the mouth (with thin yarn).
- Attach the cord.
- Your bee is ready.
