1: 2 ch (or MR), 6 sc in the first chain (6)
2: inc x 6 (12)
3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24) in BLO of previous round
5: (2 sc, 3inc) x 8 (40)
6: 3 sc, 3inc, (4 sc, 3inc) x 7, 1 sc (56)

25-27: 3 rounds sc (80)
28: (8 sc, dec) x 8 (72)
29: 1 round sc (72)
30: (7 sc, dec) x 8 (64)
31: (6 sc, dec) x 8 (56)
32: (5 sc, dec) x 8 (48)
33: (4 sc, dec) x 8 (40)
34: (3 sc, dec) x 8 (32), stuff the pumpkin
35: (2 sc, dec) x 8 (24)
36: (1 sc, dec) x 8 (16), add more stuffing
37: dec x 8 (8)
Sl st, pull the opening closed and fasten off. Leave a long tail and pass it through the pumpkin two or three times to shape and tighten it, then tie a knot and cut the yarn.
Sculpting lines
Attach the yarn to the top of the pumpkin inside the circle formed by the front loops left unworked, and make a ch chain. The number of chains depends on how firmly you stuffed and tightened the pumpkin.

Mine came out to 28 ch, but if the tension is too tight or too loose, unravel or add chains. Secure the chain with a sl st into the last round at the pumpkin base, then use sl st to move to the next stitch and make another ch chain. Secure it in the same top circle, make another chain, and secure it again at the base. In this way, make eight chains and fasten them one by one at different points of the pumpkin.
When you secure the last chain, leave a long tail, pass it through the pumpkin to the bottom, and sew a button onto the bottom part to cover the base. Fasten off and hide the yarn tail.
Stem
With green yarn, work in a spiral:
1: 2 ch (or MR), 6 sc in the first chain (6)
2: 1 round sc in BLO (6)
3: 3 sc in BLO, 3 sc through both loops as usual (6)
4: 3 sc in FLO of previous round, 3 sc (6)
5-6: 2 rounds sc (6)
7: (2 sc, inc) x 2 (8)
8: 1 round sc (8)
9: (3 sc, inc) x 2 (10)
10: (4 sc, inc) x 2 (12)
11: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
12: 3 sc in each FLO of previous round (ruffle) (54)

Sl st, cut yarn leaving a tail for sewing, restore the edge, and move it behind the back loops of the previous round.
Now sew the stem to the pumpkin using the front loops left on both the pumpkin and the stem, tie the yarn in a knot, and hide the end.
